Kampala, Uganda, On 10th April 2016; The 3rd Digital Impact Awards Africa (DIAA2016) will present “Africa’s Digital Inclusion Medal of Honor” award to Mr. Ren Zhengfei, founder and CEO of Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. The award and honor that will be presented at Serena Kampala Hotel on August 18th 2016 is an appreciation of Mr. Ren Zhengfei and Huawei’s contribution to Digital Inclusion in Africa.

Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. is a Chinese multinational networking and telecommunications equipment and services company headquartered in Shenzhen, Guangdond, China. Under the leadership of Mr. Ren Zhengfei, Huawei, has positively impacted the African continent since the late 1990s through the popularity of its well-priced cell phones and communication equipment. This has contributed to exponentially-improving communication of Africa by offering affordable products and services. Huawei’s success and impact in Africa is attributed to superior customer service with unparalleled responsiveness of management and personnel coupled with competitive pricing, tailor-made for African countries.

Over the last 15 years, nearly every African country has partnered with Huawei in some form either for network infrastructure deployment or devices distribution. Hundreds of thousands of Huawei devices have extended digital inclusion to Africa while at the same time different mobile operators are relying on Huawei equipment and platforms to deliver digital services.

Huawei’s competitive advantages in pricing, partnerships and customer services has yielded considerable benefits for African consumers, businesses and economies, and plays a key part in enabling the “mobile revolution.” Africa’s mobile technology would not be as far along as it is without Huawei and its well-priced products and services.

As thus DIAA2016 jury found it noble to award and honor Mr. Ren Zhengfei whose strategic leadership of Huawei has been key to the benefits Africa has gained from Huawei products and services. With coordination of Huawei Uganda, led by Mr. Stanley Chyn, the managing director, DIAA2016 will make arrangements to present Africa’s Digital Inclusion Medal of Honor to Mr. Ren Zhengfei.
